Apple removes over 700 apps from Chinese App Store

Apple is now hosting the app- "TRAI DND-Do Not Disturb"- as long as it does not compromise Apple's privacy norms and also meets Trai's objectives.

Top apps for all platforms included the artsy & creative Procreate Pocket on iPhone, the educational AR app Froggipedia on iPad, image editing software Pixelmater Pro on Mac, and the fitness app Sweat on Apple TV.

Apple's concern was that users will need to give away access to TRAI to read call logs and messages. The framework would share only specific details of spam calls with the authorities.

Android apps for Cheetah Mobile and Kika are reportedly being kicked off Google's Play Store.

The India Today report specifically noted that the app is only available to those using iOS 12.1, which is now running on 63% of iPhones going back to 2014. Apple picked apps like Fabulous, Shine, 10% Happier and Headspace for its best of 2018 list.

Hummingbird will take Flutter one step further by allowing app developers to create web apps, too.

Apart from Apple, Google also published its annual "Best of 2018" charts from the Play Store. With the latest apps being removed for failing to adhere to Apple's rules, however, a route back onto the store might be available if the developers start following policy.

Do Not Disturb app can now be downloaded by iPhone users in India. That means there is the potential for sensitive or personal information to be within those text messages. Once a user selects an unwanted call/message, DND will auto-generate the report and send them to the relevant carrier. So, what do you think about this? TRAI had apparently given Apple a deadline of January 2019. Customers who are already using the old app can continue to do so without having to download it afresh.

Mobile phone users in India have to put up with phone calls and texts every day from sketchy companies. Reporting is done through sending of an SMS to 1909, the official number for the objective.
