On an evening when the depth of his squad seemed at risk of being exposed with an injury to Mousa Dembele and a shaky Premier League debut by Juan Foyth, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino saw his side nearly contrive to throw away a 3-0 lead.

But the Tottenham manager also praised his team's fighting qualities after former England defender Gary Neville this week labelled previous Tottenham teams as "spineless".

"But yes, I am so happy right from the beginning".

When asked if they may have to change their style of play and adopt a more conservative approach to get back on track in the Premier League, Nuno said: "I will not, ever".

"It was hard to create that but I am so happy".

In this game against PSV, though, Lloris will have to keep a calm head and not give away another red card. "It's important we do not concede a goal as cheap as we did today".

Pochettino's men appeared to be cruising when Harry Kane made it 3-0 on 61 minutes, adding to first half goals from Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura. "Are we going to have the possibility to fix problems or are we going to manage in the same way?"

"We need to learn", he said.

Spanish side Barca top the group on nine points, three ahead of second-placed Inter Milan of Italy.

That is because Pochettino lost Mousa Dembele to an ankle injury, and while the extent of the issue is not yet known, it has been determined that he will not feature against the Dutchmen at Wembley.

Spurs eventually got their reward with 12 minutes of normal time remaining when Kane fired home his third goal of the Champions League campaign after latching on to Fernando Llorente's knock down.

"We don't know but we are a little bit anxious". I think we need to improve.

"That showed the team has a very strong character".

"I'm so pleased with everything - not only the effort of the performance, but how we played in the opposite half, trying to be patient and not taking rash decisions and not making a mistake".

Neves stepped up to roll the ball into the bottom corner, and Wolves were up again from the spot 10 minutes later when Foyth bundled into Jonny, and this time it was Jimenez who sent Lloris the wrong way to reduce the gap to one.

"I understand, I like it because after almost five years I think it's the first time that they've been critical of me and didn't agree with me, but in the end [it ended] 2-1", Pochettino told reporters with a laugh.

"Everyone wants a good pitch but you have to deal with it".
