Overwatch new playable character Ashe introduced in animated short Reunion

New Overwatch Cinematic ‘Reunion’ Spotlights McCree and Reveals New Character

The new Overwatch hero is Ashe: here are her abilities

Alongside a character reveal video the official Overwatch Twitter posted: "Introducing Ashe-leader of the Deadlock Gang and rebellious gunslinger who's not afraid to get her hands dirty".

After the short wrapped, Overwatch's Jeff Kaplan stoked the audience's curiosity and suggested that the Deadlock Gang and "the mysterious white robot" Echo would all make for great characters.

"An explosive train robbery gives McCree the chance to settle some unfinished business with a few former associates".

Ashe was unveiled today during Blizzard's BlizzCon event in Anaheim, California, alongside big announcements concerning the game and other Blizzard properties. The dynamite can be thrown and will detonate after a short period or shot to detonate immediately.

Ashe is 39 years old at the time of her arrival in the universe; she's described as "ambitious and calculating" by Blizzard, having been born into wealth to distracted parents. It deals fire damage that hurts enemies over time.

Unlike most other characters in Overwatch, it seems like Ashe's primary weapon - a semi-automatic rifle named "The Viper" - can be aimed via iron sights or hip fire. Then there's the coach gun, a sawed-off shotgun that knocks Ashe and her targets backward. Her ultimate calls in Bob, her hulking right-hand man, who will rough up the enemy team and essentially add a seventh person to your team for a brief moment.
