The official said the devices were made from PVC pipe and covered with black tape.

Other officials said the devices contained in the envelopes were all similar to one found in the mailbox of the Soros home and later detonated by police. California Congresswoman Maxine Waters was also the addressee on a package inspected by Secret Service at Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators were trying to track down another suspicious parcel they believe was addressed to Obama's vice president, Joe Biden, a federal official told Reuters late on Wednesday (24 October). At the NY briefing, authorities confirmed that at least some of the packages were distributed through the USA mail, and cautioned that there could be additional devices in the postal system. The office has been evacuated, according to CNN.

Earlier, AP had reported that the suspicious package that was sent to Hillary Clinton on Tuesday bore Wassserman Schultz's return address.

Several anchors and commentators from Fox News and other conservative outlets suggested Wednesday these deliveries are simply "false flag" operations and that Democrats themselves may have orchestrated these actions. Though she did not call out Trump by name in her remarks about the suspicious package, she noted the "deep divisions" plaguing the country.

President Trump is reportedly preparing a statement to be delivered after he receives more updates on the evolving situation.

It first emerged that the FBI was investigating one suspicious package found by the home of Bill and Hillary Clinton in Chappaqua, New York. A spokesman for Hillary Clinton referred queries to the Secret Service statement.
