Video streaming service YouTube is suffering a major outage, with thousands of users across the globe reporting the site has crashed. The application had failed to open with an error message with users complaining about the issue on social media.

YouTube acknowledged the outage in a tweet at 9:41 p.m. EDT, noting that it affected YouTube, YouTube Music and YouTube TV.

Customers from across the world appear to have suffered an outage of YouTube service for around 2 hours Tuesday.

After everyone was without their favorite videos, the site was finally restored and the official Team YouTube Twitter account comforted everyone saying: "We're back!" Users could not access YouTube content for a long time.

The online video streaming service YouTube is up and running again after an outage lasting nearly two hours. #YouTubeDOWN is now trending on top on Twitter India with users complaining about the outage.

YouTube has since shared a statement on Twitter clarifying the website was now working. Turns out it was just too many people. trying to access the Philly Police @YouTube page all at once.
