Selena Gomez is now seeking mental health treatment after reportedly suffering an emotional breakdown. The site notes that it's the second time in two weeks that she's sought urgent medical care due to an "alarmingly low white blood cell count". It was a family member who took Selena to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

During her stay, the 26-year-old insisted on leaving and had a "meltdown" and "freaked out" when doctors wouldn't let her. Sources told TMZ that Gomez attempted to rip an IV out of her arm.

She is reportedly receiving dialectical behavior therapy, which aims to treat mental health disorders.

"She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point", a source told People magazine.

Gomez was previously been admitted to a psychiatric facility in 2016, having experienced "depression, anxiety and panic" as a side effect of her lupus.

DBT is a talking treatment based on cognitive behavioural therapy that is used to develop new coping skills.

We're sending Selena lots of love and hope she is doing well.

She may have been referring to being a target of negative social media comments when former flame Justin Bieber got engaged to model Hailey Baldwin very soon after splitting from her. "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit!" Selena wasn't feeling well and went to the hospital, as she does whenever she feels off. The source also said that it was "preventative" to ensure she continued on a healthy path. She then did an Instagram Live session, in which she appeared sporadically incoherent, and revealed she has been suffering from depression for five years.
