Bucs lead Steelers 7-6 after teams trade touchdowns

Dirk Koetter told Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick the Buccaneers' plan, but he's not telling us

Winston, the former FSU star and Heisman Trophy victor, is coming off a three-game National Football League suspension for allegedly groping an Uber driver in March 2016.

Winston also said on Wednesday that he's excited for the success of the Buccaneers (2-1) thus far with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm.

"We know what we're going to do".

During his absence, Ryan Fitzpatrick filled the void with three consecutive 400-yard passing games. "And as a community, we got to get behind this team because when we're winning, when things are going good, we got to capitalize on that". In all, he's totaled 1,230 yards, 11 touchdowns, four picks, and a 124.8 passer rating. Holding a clipboard will be an unfamiliar role for Winston who will need to accept his role as Fitzpatrick's understudy if the Bucs continue to win. Fitzpatrick has more than half that mark in only three games!

But Fitzpatrick outplaying Winston actually started a year ago, during the three games Fitzpatrick started when Winston was injured.

During his absence, Ryan Fitzpatrick put up eye-popping numbers and became the first National Football League player to have 400-yard-plus passing games over the first three weeks of the season. "We go into basically where TSA would check us out".

Entering the season, it was assumed that Fitzpatrick would relinquish his starting job once Winston returned from his suspension.

For the past three weeks, Winston was not permitted to set foot in the Bucs facility, let alone practice with the team.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Koetter and Co. go about this.

The Monday night game against Pittsburgh was a little rocky but nonetheless has played about as good as you want your quarterback to play in the first three games. Receiver Mike Evans said he's on board with either quarterback.

The Bucs got the ball back with just over three minutes left; however, the Steelers forced a punt and Roethlisberger ran out the clock. "I'm here, just ready to do whatever it takes to help the team win and I think that would be my mindset going forward". Pittsburgh got a solid performance out of Ben Roethlisberger, who passed for 452 yards and 3 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.

"I'm happy with the way the first two games went".

"I'm here to assist the best way I possibly can", the fourth-year pro when asked what his reaction be to not being the starter against the Bears.
