Will Josh Gordon Make It Through Season With Patriots?

The Patriots Hope Josh Gordon Is a Big Catch

The New England Patriots have acquired Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon.

Gordon is a dynamic playmaker when he's on the field, but has played in just 11 games over the last five years due to suspensions and injuries.

The Baylor product is loaded with talent, but it's been nearly five years since Gordon exploded onto the scene in 2013, and many doubt he will contribute at all for the Pats.

As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, the Patriots have officially added Coleman to their practice squad days after cutting him.

Interestingly, the team apparently wasted no time making it known that Gordon will also take the field with the Patriots in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions in a primetime game. I thought it was a bad trade quite honestly. "And until they're completed, I'm not going to get into it".

"I think everybody feels like this is a talented player", Belichick told Patriots.com's Scott Zolak this week. "He is not worthy of this franchise".

For the Patriots, taking the chance on Gordon makes a lot of sense for them. However, they recently made a decision to part ways with him, and the Patriots traded a fifth-round pick to acquire him.

But if he fails to follow the plan Bill Belichick undoubtedly laid out for him, he won't be around Patriot Place very long.
