Big Shoutout to John Legend, the Only EGOT Achiever Who's Friends with Kanye West

Singer John Legend achieved the coveted "EGOT" status on Sunday after scoring a win at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Legend, Webber and Rice won their Emmy for producing Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which was awarded the best variety special victor at Sunday night's Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

The Creative Arts Emmys, which was held a week ahead of the 70th annual Emmy Awards, celebrates "technical and creative achievement categories" in animation and scripted comedy including drama, limited series animation and scripted programming, reality, and variety programming.

Legend wasn't the only one to celebrate his new status, the Jesus Christ Superstar co-producers, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, also joining the EGOT club. The TV musical also made EGOT'ers out of serial Tony-snatchers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice (they have nine between them). So happy to be part of this team", "So honored they trusted me to play Jesus Christ.

"EGOT GOATS", Chrissy captioned a photo of the three men holding their awards. So amazed to be in such rarefied air.

"She inspires my songs, she inspires me want to be a better husband and father", Legend said after being asked how Chrissy Teigen inspires him.

Two other songwriters were also one Emmy away from the EGOT on Sunday - Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, whose song "In the Market for a Miracle" appeared in "A Christmas Story Live!"

The EGOT club nearly went from 12 to 17 in one night but Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting team behind "La La Land" and "Dear Evan Hansen", fell short. The Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie will be awarded at the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 17.
