EA Origin Access Premier Subscription Service Starts Next Week

Electronic Arts Announces Origin Access Premier Service Will Roll Out Next Week

Origin Access Premier service for PC will launch next week

This season it'll feature entire games for Federation Internationale de Football Association 19, Battlefield V, Anthem, Madden NFL 19, and days before they launch. The service will function similar to Xbox Game Pass, with the added benefit of early access.

EA is going all in on unlimited gaming.

EA announced Origin Access Premier at E3 this year which promised access to EA's frontline games. More quietly, it also pulled the plug on Origin's "On the House" program, which provided free games to everyone-including non-Access subscribers-on an intermittent, time-limited basis. The price of basic accounts will stay the same too, clocking in at $4.99 per month.

Origin Access provides discounts to all EA games and offers select games for free. Origin Access Premiere will simply lay the seeds for more subscription revenues and a tighter level of engagement via earlier access to specific online games. "And certainly from a gamer standpoint, the feedback was very, very positive in terms of the opportunity to access more great games at great value with reduced friction", Wilson said.

Blockbuster AAA games like the newest Battlefield game or the extensively hyped Anthem will all become playable without any restrictions to subscribers of EA's Premier tier.

The standard Origin Access is now available for only $29.99 per-year. But interestingly enough EA is taking a page from the GamePass playbook: before, Origin Access subscribers had to wait until EA rotated new games into the mix. We're developing more, new IP, and bringing new teams to EA that can deliver more new and unique experiences. If you decide to upgrade to the Premier tier, you'll have to pay either $14.99 a month or $99.99 for a full, year-long subscription.
