Reddit's massively popular subreddit, r/thanosdidnothingwrong, is such a place where these Thanos-inclined philosophers can gather and chew the fat, but inevitably, there came a moment when the registered members decided they should put their money where their mouths are, and now plans are afoot for half the group's members to be mass banned, with a date penciled in for 9th July. Reddit engineers initially stymied the mod's requests to ban half of all members because such an undertaking "could potentially cause some headaches with our databases", partially because moderators can't be banned from their own subreddits.
At the time of this writing, the Thanos Did Nothing Wrong subreddit has more than 660 thousand subscribers. Josh Brolin (the actor who plays Thanos with the help of a lot of CGI) posted a video on the subreddit to get users excited. On July 5 the subreddit was at 360,000 subscribers.
Today, the subreddit moderators are kicking things up a notch by banning half of their over 630,000 subscribers-making the universe once again "perfectly balanced".
Topless, from the comfort of a bed, and with pristine looking hair, Brolin recorded a short message for the subreddit in which he stares directly into the camera and then executes his notorious finger snap-the same gut-wrenching finger snap that tore the Marvel Cinematic Universe asunder a few months ago. The Infinity War tribute page is now trending and gaining even more attention than it ever though it was going to.
Join host and queen of the Unsnapped Jessica Chobot, as she explains the origin of the upcoming Thanos-inspired purge and how it overcame objections from reddit itself.
The Untitled Avengers 4 film will premiere on May 3, 2019. While we wait, you can see Josh Brolin's recreation below, provided by The Russo Brothers' Twitter account.
