President Hassan Rouhani of Iran said in a meeting on Saturday with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that more dialogue is needed between Tehran and Moscow now that Donald Trump has withdrawn the US from the multilateral 2015 nuclear deal.

Canada is flatly rejecting Donald Trump's suggestion to reinstate Russian Federation in the G7, four years after it was expelled from the group of industrialized nations for annexing Ukraine's Crimea.
Speaking to reporters in Qingdao, China, Putin said that some nations, including Austria, have offered to host his summit with Trump, should they have one.
Xi and Putin and others pledged their support of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal from which President Donald Trump withdrew the US last month.
"We value the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination", said Putin, adding that friendship between the heads of state and friendship between the two peoples are the solid foundation for the bilateral strategic cooperation.

"The U.S. president has repeatedly said that it's reasonable to hold such a meeting", he said.
"At the same time, he's embracing Vladimir Putin, he embraced the king of Saudi Arabia, he is talking very friendly towards Kim Jong Un, and certainly very friendly towards Xi Jinping".
SCO states also include four ex-Soviet central Asian republics and new members Pakistan and India.
Putin also welcomed Trump's call to bring Moscow back into the G-7 group of leading industrialised nations.
A senior British government source said that Russian Federation needs to change its approach before any conversation about it rejoining the G7 can begin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday that he'd be happy to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump whenever Washington is ready for such a summit.
Speaking to AFP in Lithuania's capital Vilnius, senior Iranian official Massoumeh Ebtekar said Iran hoped European powers, Russian Federation and China would confirm their willingness to uphold the deal "as soon as possible because Iran can not wait forever".
"Russia welcomes the planned summit of the US and North Korea and notes China's big contribution to helping settle the crisis on the Korean Peninsula", Putin said.
