These are the first teasers from the Bethesda Studios that something new is coming from the Fallout franchise. While the screen's colors are slightly different from versions of this message that we've seen in older Fallout games, there's no mistaking the source of the visual.
It did not stop there, with Bethesda going live on Twitch which featured the Fallout "Vault Boy" figurine in front of a television with the same "Please Stand By" tag, yet no new information has been released at the time of writing. Given the famed secrecy of Bethesda Game Studios - Todd Howard refuses to even spill Elder Scrolls news to his family - pretty much anything could be on the cards. We might hear that they're now working on Fallout 5.
That doesn't mean that a Fallout: New Vegas remaster is out of the question, but with Obsidian not being associated with the project it certainly shouldn't make players hoping for one too excited. "Fallout 4" sold 12 million units at launch, surpassing 2011's "Skyrim" as the fastest-selling title in Bethesda history.
Everything is now up in the air and we will keep you posted on the latest information.
While this tease is very open-ended, we'll likely learn more at Bethesda's E3 Showcase on June 10.
Here's what Bethesda has posted officially about their E3 conference, writing: "Save the date!"
