Despite harassment allegations, Jeffrey Tambor is returning to 'Arrested Development'

Production on the new episodes came to an end in November of previous year, but it's only this week that Tambor's involvement has been brought up by a Netflix spokesperson.

Despite allegations of sexual harassment that prompted him to leave the Amazon show Transparent, Jeffrey Tambor will return to Arrested Development for its upcoming fifth season.

In the wake of allegations of sexual assault and harassment against House of Cards star Kevin Spacey in November, the streaming service acted swiftly, halting production on the show's final season and then having him written off the show. Tambor plays the patriarch of the Bluth family, the dysfunctional clan at the center of the show.

"Like, if you knew when, you would not be wrong to be thinking 'why are we all just hearing this now?' " he wrote in a message posted to Twitter. There is no information on whether Tambor will remain a regular cast member or if he will simply have a guest appearance or recurring role.

Fans of the TV series were unsure if Tambor would return after he reportedly left his role on Amazon's Transparent in February because of multiple misconduct allegations made against him by his former personal assistant, Van Barnes, and co-star Trace Lysette.

In November, Lysette accused the Emmy Award victor of lewd behavior when she was dressed in a lingerie top and shorts. Tambor has continually denied the allegations. She felt his privates on her hips. As I have consistently stated, I deeply regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone and I will continue to vehemently defend myself. Jason Bateman and David Cross expressed their support for the actor in previous interviews. Series creator Mitch Hurwitz also has yet to reveal which episode Tambor appears in the series.

Netflix made the decision on December 5 to continue the political drama "House of Cards" into its final season without actor Kevin Spacey, putting Robin Wright in the leading role instead.
