Taylor Swift Delivers Dull Earth, Wind & Fire Cover, Gets Dragged on Twitter

Taylor Swift – “September” (Earth, Wind & Fire Cover)

Taylor Swift releases two exclusive songs with Spotify Singles

On Friday (April 13, Swift's lucky number), the singer paused her Reputation Tour rehearsals to gift us with a two-song package as part of the Spotify Singles series. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift chose to cover the song and fans are NOT loving it at all. It is a track that Swift acknowledged had sentimental meaning to her. Swift's rendition nearly feels like a heartbreak ballad than a joyous anthem.

She even added a fun and very Taylor touch by changing the line "Do you remember the 21st night of September?" to "28th night" -which may confuse the average listener, but that hardcore Swifties quickly identified as the starting date of her relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

Swift has released two new songs exclusively to Spotify Singles, the streaming service's weekly playlist that focuses on two new songs from a single artist.

"Delicate is a song about the vulnerability that immediately surfaces in all of us the minute we meet someone we want to like us".

One is an acoustic cut of Delicate while the other is a cover of September by Earth, Wind and Fire.

Judge opined that some songs shouldn't be remade, and "September" is one of them - especially by Swift.

Another person tweeted, "Taylor Swift sucked the life and soul out of that song". We also included Earth, Wind & Fire's original track below to help restore your feel-good vibes.
