Late Thursday night, actor Will Ferrell and three other people were in a violent vehicle accident in Mission Viejo, California in Orange County.

According to reports by TMZ, the star, 50, was one of three passengers in the vehicle when the accident happened.

The auto carrying the actor was side-swiped by a sedan on I-5 near Laguna Hills, California, and ended up spinning and then rolling over, TMZ reported. "The driver of the Toyota apparently had fallen asleep and struck the rear end of the (Lincoln) Navigator causing it to hit the center divider wall", Officer Rafael Reynoso told the Orange County Register.

The crash occurred about 10:55 p.m. Thursday south of Alicia Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness said that after the accident, one of his friends was bleeding profusely. One of the passengers, a woman aged 27, was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries. He was back at home hours after the drama.

Reports indicate that Ferrell was reportedly heading back from a amusing or Die event in San Diego at the time of the accident.

The Anchorman actor appeared at an event called Glam UpThe Midterms, which aimed to get millennials involved with the midterm elections, along with Bill Eichner, per Hollywood Life. He was taken for treatment along with two others.

A representative for Ferrell told TMZ Friday morning that the actor "did not suffer any significant injury" and was released from the hospital.
