Ocean's 8 opens in theaters June 8. "Because it's what I'm good at", she replies, and she couldn't be more right.
When Kaling's character asks Sandra Bullock's Debbie Ocean how long it took to plan the elaborate scheme, she says "Five years, eight months, and 12 days" - aka the length of her prison stint.
We see a close look at the characters of Rihanna and Hathaway, with the latter seemingly playing a pretty self-obsessed star, draped in millions of dollars worth of jewels, ripe for the taking.
I don't know if Ocean's 11 will turn out to have the same artistry as Soderbergh's films - the content of those films is light and frothy, but Soderbergh brings his A-game, as usual. The film will include several direct connections to Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy too, with Damon and Carl Reiner potentially reprising their roles as Linus Caldwell and Saul Bloom.
James Corden is also there to provide some expository quips.
Here's a synopsis: In Summer 2018, the tide will turn as Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City's star-studded annual Met Gala. Amita (Mindy Kaling) makes a ideal replica of the necklace, Nine Ball (Rihanna) cracks one of the most sophisticated security systems in the world to get these women inside of the venue, Lou (Cate Blanchett) plans their escape.
