Krystal Daniels, 27, was booked into the Dickson County Jail and is being held on a $1 million bond. Daniels, 29, was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly killed his son on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, authorities said during a press conference on Saturday.
Despite the fact that the kid's dad is the main individual who has been arrested for the situation up until this point, Dickson County Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe said the examination is progressing and "nothing is off the table".
Investigators are still working to locate Joe Clyde's body and no motive has been released. Those previous incidents prompted calls to authorities, and led investigators to initially believe the same situation occurred again, though foul play was never ruled out. The other children in the family were in the care of Joe Clyde's mother and other relatives, Bledsoe said. There were no interactions between the family and DCS in the last three years, spokesman Rob Johnson said. Daniels called 911 to report his son missing and told a dispatcher the boy must have unlocked the door and wandered off. Law enforcement officers and rescue crews began an exhaustive search near his home.
A number of volunteers had joined in the search for the child. TBI did not specify how they obtained that information. The boy, who has autism, had been missing for three days. The community flooded the church with food and supplies.
TBI investigators are at the Daniels' home Saturday morning and are treating the area as a crime scene.
TBI said its agents opened a criminal investigation on Friday at the request of District Attorney General Ray Crouch.
