Stranger Things Kids Get Big Pay Raise for Season 3

Is Netflix Encouraging Smoking?

Report: Stranger Things Cast Scores Big Raises for Season 3

The group of actors playing the teenagers - Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers) - are each pocketing around US$150,000 per episode, according to the reports. Brown, who plays the character Eleven, reportedly received the largest salary increase among her young co-stars. Production of the third season is set to begin April 23. With enormous raise in their payouts, Winona Ryder (Joyce) and David Harbor (Sheriff Hopper) will now be earning $350,000 per episode.

While actors cast as series regulars on a TV show nearly always have long-term deals, it has become a tradition for the casts of successful series to renegotiate their contracts after the second season after receiving one-time bonuses ahead of Season 2. Apparently, you give them a massive raise.

The young stars, who reportedly earned about $30,000 per episode over the first two seasons will be bumped up to between $200,000 and $250,000.

Netflix declined comment on the reports, while representatives for each of the actors did not immediately respond to request for comment.

"We are leaning into it", Matt Duffer told Indie Wire.

Just as the drama has helped to solidify Netflix's reputation as a premiere destination for creators, the show has also launched many of its previously unknown castmembers into full-fledged stardom.

The "Stranger Things" kids have finally made it.

Though, there is one actress whose salary remains a mystery to all - that of break-out star Millie Bobby Brown.

There also seems to be a uniform salary scale for the cast which is probably a good idea to prevent potential unequal pay among male and female cast members.

Though this is good news for the actors on the fan-favorite Netflix series, Stranger Things has recently been on the receiving end of some controversy.
