Los Angeles Police have confirmed Terry Bryant was arrested for grand theft, after the statuette went missing from the Governor's Ball.

Sunday was a star-studded night Oscar night in Los Angeles, filled with dazzling ensembles, celebrities and Academy Award winners - though the show did get historically low television ratings. He took the Oscar off the table where Frances was sitting and videotaped himself with the award in hand. "The photographer did not recognize Bryant as a recipient from the awards show and believed he was in possession of a trophy which did not belong to him", the LAPD said in a statement on Twitter. Don't talk to us about it at the parties tonight.

Frances McDormand almost left the Academy Awards empty-handed after someone tried to steal her coveted golden statuette but luckily it was returned to her.

Dressed in a tuxedo with hair held back in hairpins, he is seen in the footage posted on the page of a Terry Bryant Djmatari kissing the trophy and allowing bystanders to touch it. "We got it tonight, baby. who wants to tell me congratulations?", inviting people to pose for selfies with him and claiming that he had won it for "music".

Her rep told USA Today that the actress got the trophy back. McDormand's rep Simon Halls revealed in an email to Variety that she followed up the somewhat upsetting after-party experience by celebrating the reunion with a double cheeseburger from In-N-Out.

It was McDormand's second Oscar win, who bagged the best-supporting-actress award for her role as a police officer in Fargo (1997) two decades ago.
