HMD Global launches Nokia 6 (2018) with Zeiss Optics at #MWC2018

Pocketnow's MWC coverage is made possible by InvisibleShield, which frees you to go everywhere with your mobile device without the fear of damaging your screen. The startup, staffed by longtime ex-Nokia and Microsoft executives, also announced it had shipped 70 million phones previous year, and captured 1% of the smartphone market in the fourth quarter. There are also reports of this phone being IP67 water/dust resistant but can not be confirmed as of now. But the upgraded 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of storage should offer the needed performance expected from this device.

That's a strong position for these phones, but essentially, both will be running the same pure version of Android Oreo.

The 8110 also has an app store, which gives access to favourites like Google Assistant, Google Search, Google Maps, Facebook and Twitter. There's also a bunch of colored backers available if you want to switch up the design. The smartphone comes with a better hardware and it will be available from April 2018 for 279 Euros. The phone will be reportedly equipped with rotating zoom technology from the house of Carl Zeiss. It will stay fresh over time with the latest Google innovations and regular security updates. It is priced at Euro 249 and will be going on sale starting early April. Along with that the device will be available in 2 variants i.e. one with 3GB RAM and storage of 32GB and other with 4GB RAM and storage of 64GB. It also includes a 16MP front-facing camera along with an f/2.0 aperture.

Nokia 6 (2018) comes with the traditional design as all Nokia smartphones with thick bezels on the front side around the display. Its fingerprint sensor sits on the back. Although the mobile camera game has changed significantly from 5 years ago, we can still hope that HMD's hook-up with Zeiss will yield the same kind of high-quality photography experience.

Nokia 7 Plus has an immersive 2-day battery life span and is the first HMD Global phone with FullView display announced. The phone features a 5.5-inch edge-to-edge display with curved Gorilla Glass 5 and a single-piece stainless steel body for durability. The phone is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, and supports wireless charging, thanks to the glass back. Just like the Nokia 8, the Nokia 8 Sirocco also comes with OZO Audio which allows for 360 degree audio recording and Bothie which allows users to capture pictures/video via the front and rear camera simultaneously.

Besides using an older display, the phone has a 5.5-inch QHD pOLED display in the older 16:9 aspect ratio.

On top of that, all three handsets put under Android One run Android Oreo out of the box.

HMD Global, the company that now makes Nokia -branded phones, launched a slew of smartphones on Sunday, including a high-end offering to compete with giants Apple and Samsung.

Recently, however, fewer and fewer companies have used the show as a launchpad for their devices, choosing instead to hold their own separate events.
