The Baltimore Ravens will face off against the Chicago Bears for the Hall of Fame Game on August 2, the team announced Tuesday.

The Bears and Ravens each had a first-ballot Hall of Famer in this year's class, and now their fans have another reason to travel to Canton for the induction ceremony.

The Packers were scheduled to play the Indianapolis Colts in the Hall of Fame Game before the 2016 season, but the game was cancelled after the turf at the stadium was discovered to be unsafe to players in pre-game warmups.

The Hall of Fame Game will be played on Thursday, Aug. 2 in Canton, Ohio.

The Hall of Fame Game will mark new Bears head coach Matt Nagy's first official game in charge of Chicago.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Chris Moore (10) is tackled by Chicago Bears defenders as he rushes the ball in the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, in Baltimore. However, the field was redone as part of a massive renovation project at the Hall of Fame, and last year's game went off without any problems. The Ravens beat Chicago, 19-14, before the start of the 1998 season.

It also means the Ravens will begin training camp a week earlier than usual to prepare for the NFL's first preseason contest. The spectacular venue is a major component of the $800 million Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village underway on the Hall's campus. Packages range from event day offerings to four-day experiences that include a multitude of exclusive extras.
