Owens also benefited from a strong candidacy put forth by Randy Moss. This was Moss' first year on the Hall of Fame ballot and he is the first wide receiver to get voted in during his first year of eligibility since Jerry Rice in 2010.

Brian Urlacher played from the Bears from 2000-12.

Bobby Beathard, the man who spearheaded building some of the greatest Redskins teams, has been selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"I've been going a long time".

"I just wanted to stay even keel, no ups and downs, " Moss said. "I think it means to me that I did something that I know deep down inside that the people back in the state of West Virginia are proud of me, and it feels good".

Moss and Owens each played for five teams in their careers as they often wore out their welcome with their inability to get along with teammates and coaches at times.

Owens was in transit and unavailable for comment on Saturday, although Hall of Fame president David Baker said he expects him to be at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Moss explained that Rice's name made him tear up because at his position, he's the guy everyone's "aiming" for.

He led the National Football League in TD catches five times, including his record 23 for New England in 2007, and earned four All-Pro selections. The four-time Pro Bowler is fifth in National Football League history with 15,208 yards, 12th with 91 career touchdowns and 13th with 1,024 receptions. Kevin Greene was inducted the same year the Carolina Panthers lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl, while Junior Seau, who ended his career with New England, was inducted in 2015 when the Patriots beat Seattle.

In total, Owens brought in 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards (second all-time) and 153 touchdowns (third all-time).

Ray Lewis was taken in the first round of the 1996 draft by the Baltimore Ravens and played his entire career (17 seasons) with the team.

Lewis had legal problems off the field.

Law had a signature pick-six in Patriots' first Super Bowl victory over the St. Louis Rams.

Dawkins joined Ray Lewis and Rodney Harrison as members of the 30/30 club; players who have at least 30 interceptions and 30 forced fumbles. By his fourth season he had become the face of the Eagles defense, playing 183 games over his 13 years with the team. With Tom Brady throwing to him, Moss caught 47 touchdowns in three seasons. For his first six years, Boselli was a three-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowl selection.

That group of 10 made it past an earlier cutdown from 15, from which cornerback Everson Walls, safety John Lynch, wide receiver Isaac Bruce, tackle Joe Jacoby and running back Edgerrin James were members.
