Just yesterday, OnePlus released the OxygenOS Open Beta 3 update to the 5T, which brought in new iPhone X-like gesture controls, new SMS categorisation feature designed for the Indian OnePlus users, and a new toggle to change the phone call pick up gesture.
OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users also get a new Android security patch, and a new SMS categorization which is for users in India only.
Apart from Oreo, the update also brings improvements in the system which according to the changelog includes a new design for Quick Settings, general bug fixes and improvements, applied CPU security patch: CVE-2017-13218. The update takes that Launcher version to v2.2, Gallery to v2.0, Weather to v1.9 and finally File Manager has got v1.7.6.
The OnePlus 5T, for all practical purposes, is little more than a OnePlus 5 with fewer bezels and a few new features here and there. If you haven't received this OTA update yet, then try flashing it manually by downloading it from the OnePlus official website. A swipe up from the center goes home, one from the left goes back, and a swipe-up-and-hold triggers the multi-tasking menu. The update will initially rollout to a small number of OnePlus 5T users while a broader rollout will follow in a few days. We have not yet tried this new feature, but early feedback says that some of the gestures work fine, while others still need some extra polish. Now, OnePlus has added a functionality to disable or replace the soft navigation bar with gestures. "Hope you enjoy and let us know how you feel about the update".
