In 2012, Manchester united supposed they had secured the capture of Moura from Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo, only for a twist in events as the winger opted for Paris Saint-Germain.

That could work in Liverpool's favour with the club still in Europe's biggest club competition.

In case you didn't know.

It has been claimed that the French giants want £35 million (R587 million) for the 25-year-old, but could settle for less if United agree a deal quickly.

Moura has played just 71 minutes in the league for PSG and, so drastically has his stock fallen, he is not even cup-tied for the Champions League.

The Man United boss has responded to a galling 0-0 draw with Southampton by giving his attacking players, along with Paul Pogba, greater freedom to roam the pitch in an attempt to make his side less predicable in attack - a formula that worked wonders during the 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

Once considered to be one of the most promising talents in world football, Lucas has struggled to get opportunities and regular playing time in a team consisting of the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria and Julian Draxler.

Tottenham want Lucas Moura, but only on loan.

Le Parisien report they are holding firm on their €40m valuation of Moura to help reach that target, despite the fact he has failed to start a single league match this term and has entered the final 18 months of his contract in the French capital.

The South American wouldn't be a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho as Moura is predominantly a right winger but Klopp might be tempted to sign him as £22.1m is a relative bargain in today's market.
