Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming to the Switch

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Brings the Chill to Nintendo Switch in May

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze hits Switch on May 4

During the January 11th Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showcased a new trailer featuring a brand new character and mode. Alternatively, the Tropical Freeze port could be Nintendo's way of giving Switch owners a Donkey Kong Country game so Retro can work on something else entirely. This seems to be an easy mode of sorts, as Funky Kong is able to double jump, hover in the air, perform infinite rolls, and perform infinite underwater corkscrews.

Tropical Freeze was easily one of the finest games available for Wii U, and now the game is set to make its way to Switch. He can even survive spikes with his trusty surfboard. We'll have more information for you when it's available, but in the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for more ports of classic Donkey Kong and Zelda games. You can even enjoy the game in Co-Op using just 2 joy con.

Regardless, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a great game, and it should be a strong addition to the Switch's library, especially for those that skipped the Wii U.

And for fans of Rabbid Peach, you'll be thrilled to know that she gets screen time in the video, as well as a part in DK's announcement tweet.
