A California woman returned her Christmas tree to Costco on January 4, asking for a refund because the tree had died, ABC7 reported. The post said that the woman did get a refund but after the store checked and verified that the tree was purchased on her account.
"Heartbreaking to think she may have needed that money so much, she lost all self respect and dignity for it", Bentley wrote.
'She did get a refund - not happily though.
Scott Bentley was so outraged the woman's chutzpah, he posted a photo he took of her along with his commentary on Facebook.
'But I don't think it fazed her because she had no conscience, ' the man wrote on Facebook.
Costco is known for a generous return policy under which people can return any item barring electronics at any time.
The woman has not been identified, but she did give shoppers an idea for next year. "People like this are miserable".
While another said: "Sister works for Costco, can confirm. They will even demand a refund without bringing back the tree".
