English Premier League's Everton completed Friday signing of the 27 million pounds ($36 million) deal for Turkish worldwide striker Cenk Tosun after days of intense talks.
In 96 appearances for Besiktas since the start of 2014/15 Tosun has scored 41 goals, more than any other player in the division in that period and has been described by Allardyce as "strong mentally with a good pedigree".
The Toffees sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in a deal said to be worth £75million in the last transfer window and have struggled to fill the Belgian's void, scoring just 25 goals in 22 Premier League matches.
"I want to play as soon as possible", he said. I'm excited to play with them and to learn from them as well, players like Wayne Rooney and the very good creative players we have here, too.
"It feels great to be an Everton player".
Everton now sit in ninth spot in the Premier League standings with a seven-point cushion over the relegation zone and are next in action at Tottenham Hotspur on 13th January.
Everton have confirmed the signing of Turkey global Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.
"I'm really excited to work with my new team mates because Everton has really, really big names, big players".
Tosun scored 20 goals last season to help Besiktas retain their Turkish Super League crown. I hope they can make a lot of assists for me!
Tosun, who said he would be available to face Tottenham in the Premier League next Saturday, added that Allardyce was a major factor in his decision to join Everton. "I do not think you can look any more than we have done".
The Turkey global has been capped 25 times for his country. He has got some good movement, he's two-footed, he's not the biggest but he's efficient in the air in the box.
"We looked at the qualities of the player, his talent and goalscoring, and his resilience too".
