PUBG Adds 3D Replay and Killcam Before Launch (Monday Embargo)

On December 20, update version 1.0 will launch for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, bringing with it several fan-desired updates such as the 3D replay and killcam.

Discovered by Resetera user JumPeR (via Gamespot), plugging a USB keyboard into the Xbox One allows players to control the game using traditional keyboard controls. "We know expectations from the community are high and our team worked side-by-side with the PUBG developers to design and deliver a never-before-seen, immersive replay experience that is sure to deliver countless hours of "wow-factor" moments and sharable content". Which it kind of has to, what with the Xbox One version still being very rough around the edges.

For those who are entirely new to the game, the basic rule of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is to be the last man standing.

Having pointed that out, there is technically a way to obtain PUBG for free but it involves buying the Xbox One X. Starting December 17th until the 31st, gamers who buy the upgraded console will get the game for free, Tech Times reports.

According to the game's creator Brendan Greene, the Xbox One launch was a massive success, he took to Twitter to state that the game reached 1 million players on Xbox One after just two days. Additionally, Minkonet's replay engine will facilitate in-game observer capabilities, which might open the window for better streaming and eSports opportunities for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It even went on to be nominated for Game of the Year at Geoff Keighley's Game Awards 2017.

That said, the game is still in early access both on Xbox One and PC.

The news comes from Xbox Wire, who announced the figures on Friday, ahead of PUBG's first weekend on sale.
