'Homeland' Season 7 Trailer Shows a Shift from Terrorists to Governmental Misconduct

Homeland Season 7 Trailer Showtime

Showtime

Homeland Season 7 premieres Sunday, February 11 at 9pm ET/PT on Showtime, and will come to Channel 4 in the United Kingdom shortly afterward.

At the end of Season 6, Danes's Carrie Mathison was still absorbing the shock of seeing 200 members of the intelligence community - including her mentor, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) - arrested without being charged with any crime.

It's not completely clear if Carrie (Claire Danes) will be going rogue with her own investigations, but the trailer makes it look like she has allies.

The footage also features an Alex Jones-like conspiracy character Brett O'Keefe (played by Jake Weber) who was first introduced last season.

The final scene of the trailer shows a furious Carrie leaning over someone (not shown in the frame) and threatening: "I will hunt you down, I will kill you". Meanwhile, Mathison has left the White House and is attempting to secure the release of those intelligence community personnel while living with her sister.

The network treated fans to a glimpse at the action set to take place in the next installment of the popular spy thriller with the first trailer which has just dropped. This puts a real monkey wrench in Carrie's plan because she's one of the few people who seems to be onto the fact that something is off about President Keane.

The newest season of "Homeland" will debut in February on Showtime with Carrie facing a new threat from inside the government...
