Anthony Davis has been fined for his actions after being ejected from the New Orleans Pelicans game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The New Orleans Pelicans' superstar suffered a non-contact injury during the team's game against the Utah Jazz, which left him rolling around on the ground in serious pain.
Dan Feldman, with NBC Sports, reported Friday that the league fined Davis for "verbally abusing a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection". With Minnesota leading 45-43, Davis was called for a technical foul.
Davis was injured Friday night early in the fourth quarter of 114-108 loss to the Utah Jazz.
With Anthony Davis sidelined on Saturday because of a left pelvis injury, the Pelicans (12-11) needed DeMarcus Cousins to step up his aggression against a stingy Portland defense, and he did just that. He was taken to the locker room on a wheelchair, according to several sources.
In his first 20 games, Davis put up the second-best scoring and rebounding averages of his career while shooting at his highest field goal percentage ever.
