Now it's learned another separate Harley Quinn movie is in development. It was detailed that a film starring "several" of Dc's female heroes and villains was in the works, but it appears as though we might be getting an entirely separate Harley Quinn film as well.
In an interview with MTV to promote her new film I, Tonya, Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad a year ago, talked about her own vision for the future of the character, including a solo film completely unrelated to any of her other films.
Robbie went on to say that many people would like to see Harley on screen, but no one knows how to do it. So the news that the actor is developing her own "totally separate" outing for the baseball bat wielding, bubble gum blowing baddie is welcome indeed. Per her Robbie's remarks to MTV News, she wanted to please fans of the character with the Task Force X movie, but she also didn't want to let that stop her from taking creative liberties whenever appropriate. "You see that in the comics, she loves meeting people, any people, but she needs her girl gang". There's a lot going on right now. Robbie has done a great job at portraying Quinn, so anything she's in should make for a fun film.
Critics praised her performance more than anything else in the film, and there has already been talk of a film starring her character and Jared Leto's joker, as well as the sequel - the inventively titled Suicide Squad 2.
Is there such a thing as too much Harley Quinn? It seems like it's best for Warner Bros.to flawless their craft instead of tacking on even more projects on their already-hefty plate.
