Micromax Bharat 5 with 5.2-inch Display, 5000 mAh battery Launched for Rs. 5555

Less than a day after the launch of Xiaomi's 'Desh Ka Smartphone', its homegrown competitor, Micromax, is ready to raise the heat with its new Bharat 5 smartphone.

The series, which was launched in May this year, comprise six devices. It also comes with 50GB extra data offer from Vodafone. Micromax Bharat 5 smartphone only launched in Black Color. Under its hood, the smartphone features a quad-core processor of an unspecified chipset that is teamed up with 1GB RAM and 16GB default storage space that can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. Xiaomi's latest entry-level smartphone will be available for Rs 4,999 for the initial 5 million customers after which its price will come back to Rs 5,999. Users will get 10GB of free data per month over a period of 5 months respectively.

Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics, said, "With Bharat series, Micromax is helping the Indian consumers be digitally connected and make the experience more affordable and accessible".

Vodafone customers can purchase any of the following new Micromax smartphones - Bharat 2 Plus, Bharat 3, Bharat 4and Canvas -1 and enjoy the cashback offers. The phone packs similar specs like the Bharat 4, except it's bigger battery.

However, Xiaomi is also giving a Rs 1,000 discount on the first 50 lakh Redmi 5A phones it sells, bringing down the price to effectively Rs 4,999 and 5,999. While the Nokia 2 is available at all major retail stores across India, the Moto C Plus is a Flipkart exclusive phone. The device boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and there won't be any upgrade to Android Oreo in the near future. It has 1GB of DDR 3 RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage and has 5000mAh battery that lasts two days long.
