Following the controversy, manager Mauricio Pochettino defended Tottenham from Rose's comments but at the same time, the Argentine manager did not take any drastic action against the defender and he was even reintegrated into the first team immediately after returning from injury.

The same report says that Mourinho is a long-term admirer of Rose and is keen to try and bring him to Old Trafford.

Whatever the future holds for Shaw, whohas been frozen out of the United first team picture by Mourinho, it appears to be increasingly clear that Rose is being eased out of the Tottenham fold by Pochettino, with his latest snub for what is traditionally the club's biggest game of the season a potential breaking point for all parties.
