Injustice 2 features the DC universe's characters battling it, but having non-DC characters in-game is not unusual for the series. With a number of promised characters - including some from Watchmen - still MIA, many fans expected the announcement to reveal one of those additions, only for Michelangelo to be revealed as the one wearing the trenchcoat at the end of the trailer before being joined by Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael.
If you haven't seen the original reveal yet, the previous trailer can be seen here.
The final three DLC characters for Injustice 2 have been revealed, and as noted by the headline, some are heroes in a half shell. Seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Injustice 2 is surreal and they should be fairly fun to use.
Going by the video, the turtles will be fighting as a team, which means all four will be controlled as one.
The fact that this reveal was kept entirely under wraps was an impressive accomplishment and the game's director, Ed Boon, said as much on Twitter, saying "Part of me cannot believe that character reveal didn't leak...." Still, it's an exciting time to be a comic book fan. You'll be able to buy them separately, or if you want all the DLC characters in one sweep you can pick up the Ultimate Edition of the game.
While the TMNT brand is now in the hands of comic book publisher IDW, the Turtles crossed over for a six-issue Batman story - which IDW co-published with DC - that ran in 2016.
