Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pulling a weapon out on a woman, according to a report from TMZ Sports. He remains in custody after being booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct. He was expected to make his initial appearance on Sunday morning. The alleged incident occurred at around 6 p.m. and Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Tyler Johnson told AZCentral.com that it was unclear what had led up to the incident.

Maxwell made headlines earlier this year as the only Major League Baseball player this season to kneel during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. He claimed he didn't even recognize or know who Maxwell was. The arrest photo of Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell.

Matt Henry, the waiter, denied the claim and said that the table was not served the beers that they ordered because two of the three diners could not produce valid forms of identification. Maxwell said the waiter was a supporter of Donald Trump.
