The FBI has launched an investigation into Hart's extortion claims and it appears they already have a suspect. Kevin Hart, actor and comedian, is no stranger to infidelity. But I'm also not going to allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes and in this particular situation that was what was attempted. "I said I'd rather fess up to my mistakes".
The FBI told TMZ they feel confident in knowing who made the demands to Hart's estate over the video, whether it was the person responsible for recording the video or someone who had possession of it.
That mess started when Eniko posted on Instagram, rejoicing in she and Kevin's 8-year relationship.
It's unclear if the circumstance involved a video that made the rounds on gossip sites and tabloids in July that showed Hart apparently making out in the back seat of a auto with woman who's not his wife. If the extortion fails, which it could have since the woman has released the video for free, she could be on probation for at least 12 years, according to Criminal Defense Lawyer. The scene then cuts to the bedroom where two people are having sex.
But Hart, to avoid adding more insult to injury, opted to nip the story in the bud and go for the public apology to his loved ones.
FBI Investigates Extortion Plot Against Kevin Hart
Eniko Parrish, Kevin Hart, TV personality Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi at the People's Choice Awards in January.
"The real reason Kevin Hart orchestrated the Texas Hurricane Relief Fund, this so-called good deed was done to get ahead as he knew this damaging footage was one click away from being exposed as the liar and cheater he is", the text reads.
Now we will not be posting the video here on Comedy Hype, but it shouldn't be too hard to find on social media.
Hart, 38, hasn't confirmed any details of what happened, but he has gotten candid about his personal life, including cheating, in the past.
Gonzalez found herself embroiled in a cheating scandal with the comedian in July.
