"I am announcing my resignation as mayor, effective at 5 p.m. tomorrow", Murray said in a statement.

Another accuser, Lloyd Anderson, issued a statement Tuesday through his lawyer: "I feel victory, but saddened that it required another victim to come forward for him to resign".

In a statement obtained by KONG, Harrell said he intends to make an announcement within five days, after he consults with his family and other members of the Seattle City Council. During Murray's tenure as mayor, Seattle sued Trump over his executive order cracking down on sanctuary cities that limit their cooperation with federal immigration agents. "The allegations against me are not true and I say this with all honesty and the deepest sincerity".

MAYOR Ed Murray did the right thing resigning Tuesday.

Before his resignation today, Councilmember Kshama Sawant was one of two councilmembers, along with Lorena González, to call for Murray's resignation.

"We do believe you and we are here for you", said Simpson, who also had a message for Murray.

"I was pretending that I was asleep so he would not touch me again", said the man who added that the abuses have reached to an end when Murray found another victim: a boy from a Catholic group, who ended up taking legal actions against him as well.

In July, the paper reported that a child welfare report filed with the state of OR said Murray sexually abused his teenage foster son in the 1980s.

"There would be times when I would fake sleeping because I didn't want him touching me", Dyer, told the Times. "We have to live the values we claim to hold, and whoever is in the mayor's office must lead by example".

"I will continue to be the mayor of this city".

"I think the focus has to be on moving forward".

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray announced his resignation on Tuesday amid an ongoing child sex-abuse scandal.

A former state legislator instrumental in pushing for passage of gay rights laws, Murray said his accusers' claims "paint me in the worst possible historical portraits of a gay man...."

A Superior Court judge in King County earlier this year granted a voluntary dismissal order sought by the plaintiff, Delvonn Heckard of the first allegation. Another alleged victim, a 49-year-old resident of Portland, in the neighboring state of OR, went on television to accuse the progressive and openly homosexual Democratic politician of sexual assault.
