A MA woman will face a judge Thursday after she allegedly took her 3-year-old daughter after making threats to harm her.
Police say Rickheit threatened to harm her daughter when she took her from a residence on Greenwood Street in Worcester last night at 7:45 p.m.
A MA woman is facing attempted murder charges after apparently kidnapping her daughter and attempting to kill both the girl and herself.
Troopers said they found Rickheit and her daughter either sleeping or unconscious in the vehicle.
"VFAS Trooper Keller Williams smashed a window to the vehicle and troopers removed the child and Rickheit from the auto", State Police explained in a statement. She has a history in the Charlton area and was thought to recently be traveling on the Mass Pike in that area.
Both Rickheit and Ella were reported to be conscious and responsive afterwards. Ella was taken to UMass Medical Center for examination and Rickheit was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital under police guard.
The vehicle was then found by troopers in a wooded area around 15 miles from the town at around 3:30am on Thursday.
The correct charges against Leeann Rickheit are as yet hazy as state and neighborhood police explore.
Rickheit is expected to be arraigned today in Dudley District Court on charges of attempted murder, assault and battery on a child and reckless endangerment of a child.
Rickheit's attorney said her client didn't think her daughter would be harmed because she cracked open a window.
