The Reds have seen two offers rejected, the last of which was worth a whopping £66m.
Liverpool have accepted RB Leipzig's unwillingness to sell Naby Keita and will wait until next summer to return for him, sources have told ESPN FC. Similar to the Reds, Leipzig will be competing in the Champions League next season and it will be the flawless opportunity to see whether Keita can continue to deliver the goods in one of the hardest club competitions in the world.
Speaking following Liverpool's recent pre-season victory over Hertha Berlin Klopp joked with Sky Deutschland: 'Our next offer for Keita is €300m!'
"The chances [of a transfer], none", Hasenhuttl said. "It's 100% clear that Naby Keita will play this year in Leipzig". At the beginning of the transfer period we said we would start with the same team with all the main players we had left past year, that no one will go.
So far, Hassenhuttl has proved other clubs wrong as RB Leipzig secured Champions League football and led the German top-flight for three weeks over Bayern Munich during last season's Bundesliga.
"Until next summer, we'll keep [the door] closed and then we'll have a look".
"These are our two most important players on our team so it's sure he will be with our team next year".
Liverpool will reportedly reignite their interest in Keita next summer as he has a release clause in his contract that can be triggered at the end of next season. "I think he is more focused than previous year".
