Mobile devices company Xiaomi has today launched Mi Max 2 in India for a price of Rs. 16999. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes out into the markets in two variants when it comes to storage space: 64GB and 128GB (The 128GB RAM variant has not been launched in India yet).
Going through Xiaomi Mi Max 2 specifications, the device packs a 6.44-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass. In comparison to the Mi Max 2, the Mi 6 sports a more premium design along with dimensions that make it looks like a phone and not a tablet that has been shrunk. It is equipped with a power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a enormous 5,300mAh battery. It runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
For photography, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 rear sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.25-micron pixels, Dual LED flashlight, PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) support. Lastly, on the camera front, the phone is reported to feature a dual-rear camera setup, though the camera sensors and their resolution is not known at the moment.
Coming to the connectivity options, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. Powered by a massive 5300mAh battery, it supports Quick Charge 3, which can charge 68 per cent of the battery in just one hour. It's fully revealed in the teasing poster and shows us a rear fingerprint scanner as well as a run-of-the-mill metal Xiaomi design. We already deduced that it was the Mi Max 2 and we were right.
The all-new phablet weighs 211 gram and measures 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6mm in dimensions. The phone comes in Matte Black color and is priced at Rs. 16999. As a bundled offer, Reliance Jio subscribers get 100GB of 4G data. However, the device will also be exclusively available on the Mi anniversary sale to be held on 20 and 21 July. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 will power this smartphone supporting by 3GB and 4GB RAM with 32GB/64 GB internal storage. In the two-day event, Xiaomi will sell its newly launched smartphones, Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4.
