For the 33 time since 1986, Indy cars move north to race in Toronto, Canada, this time for the Verizon IndyCar Series Honda Indy Toronto on the streets near Exhibition Place, west of downtown Toronto.

Live coverage of the Honda Indy Toronto begins at 3 p.m. ET on CNBC and the Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network.

Alexander Rossi was second for his first podium finish of the year and best since winning the 2016 Indianapolis 500.

Instead, the Oakville, Ont., native qualified sixth at his hometown track for the second year in a row.

His Andretti Racing Honda had been underperforming all weekend but he turned the corner when he finished eighth in qualifying. "I knew what kind of pressure I was under today getting this win for the Canadian fans, but to go out there and get the job done, words don't describe it".

"It's a track that Scott Dixon excels at", Tracy said.

Gutierrez says he is getting more comfortable in the Coyne auto.

Newgarden now has two wins at this venue and two at Barber, a permanent road course east of Birmingham, Ala. "Because there are many other days we should have won the race". This time, the three race leaders had not pitted when the yellow came. I think it was a very good example of that today. So thanks to all of you guys. "Hopefully I get a couple more podiums before the end of the year, and we can get it done".

Pagenaud was happy for Newgarden, his teammate, but he wished the caution had come at a different time. "It's going to be hard beating all of those guys, but I will tell you what, when you have got Chevy power, you have Chevy reliability and Chevy fuel mileage - you feel pretty good about things". Last race: Valtteri Bottas dominated in Austria for his second victory of 2017.

An accordion effect between Graham Rahal, Scott Dixon and Will Power saw Dixon and Power sustain the heaviest collision on the run down to Turn 3 on the opening lap.

Power's vehicle got the worst of it, breaking a right-front suspension piece. Power's day ended with a last-place finish; Dixon finished 10th, losing five points off his series points lead.

Kanaan had his brakes lock up while leaving the pits and connected with the protective tires in Turn 1.

Sellers started on the pole in the opener, lost the lead and regained it for good on Lap 31.

NOTES: Simon Pagenaud's pole here Saturday was his first of the season.

It's a barnburner of a finish since no one has more than two wins yet this year, but as ever, the combination of wins and consistency will deliver this year's IndyCar title. The Frenchman is returning to the race track in a mentorship role for Dale Coyne Racing just two months after a crash during qualifying for the Indy 500.

Esteban Gutiêrrez of Mexico was re-evaluated by the IndyCar Medical Staff Sunday morning and has been cleared to drive in Sunday's Honda Indy Toronto.
